About
Durável In-Fluence Water-Based Concrete Stain is a semi-transparent color system designed for natural concrete and cement-based overlays. It works with the porosity of the surface to create organic color movement, producing rich variation and one-of-a-kind decorative finishes.
The water-based formula eliminates the need for neutralization and allows for simple soap and water cleanup after application. At the standard dilution, In-Fluence delivers consistent, vibrant color, and can be further diluted or layered to create softer shading, depth, and more complex decorative effects.
In-Fluence is enhanced with a non-acrylic bonding agent that helps improve color durability prior to sealing, while still allowing the topcoat to properly penetrate and bond to the concrete or overlay.

In-Fluence gives you precise control over color, whether you’re working on concrete or a cement-based overlay. During application, the color you see while the surface is wet is a good indicator of the final look once sealed with a color-enhancing sealer. As the stain dries, it will soften in appearance, then return to a richer tone after a color-enhancing topcoat is applied.
Color intensity can be adjusted by diluting the stain, and layering multiple colors allows you to build depth, variation, and more custom decorative effects.
Below are helpful tips for working with In-Fluence water-based concrete stains, including color characteristics and recommended dilution ranges.
The dilution rates below apply after preparing the standard-strength gallon shown above.
For example, a 1:1 dilution means 1 gallon of prepared standard-strength stain mixed with 1 gallon of water.

Instructions
How to Prepare the Concrete or Overlay Surface for Staining
- Follow the substrate preparation instructions for the selected topcoat.
- In-Fluence stains are only to be applied to porous concrete or overlay.
- Always test the surface prior to application.
- The topcoat will encapsulate the stain as it penetrates the surface and bonds.
- Improper preparation of the surface can lead to top coat delamination and failure. When the topcoat delaminates it takes with it the encapsulated stain.
What Tools Can I Use to Apply Durável In-Fluence?
In-Fluence can be applied by pump-up sprayers, HVLP sprayers, airless sprayers, sponges, or brushes.
How to Mix Durável In-Fluence 32 oz Concentrate
Prior to every use, the container must be mixed and shaken vigorously to evenly distribute the pigments.
- Concentrated quarts must always be made into a gallon prior to use; mixing a partial gallon will result in inconsistent colors.
- After shaking the unopened container pour out about half of the contents into a mixing container or sprayer.
- Reclose the container and shake the remaining contents again, then add to the mixing container or sprayer.
- Next, use the original bottle to measure three additional quarts of water into the mixing container or sprayer.
- After filling the bottle shake it vigorously to capture any remaining pigments.
- One quart of concentrate plus three quarts of added water produces one gallon of useable stain at standard strength.
- Mix or shake the blended gallon before and during use.
How to Apply Durável In-Fluence Concrete Stain
Always test the color prior to application. In-Fluence stain color results may vary with the color and porosity of the concrete or overlay substrate.
- In-Fluence can be applied by pump-up sprayers, HVLP sprayers, airless sprayers, sponges, or brushes.
- Protect adjacent surfaces from overspray.
- When using a pump-up sprayer select either a cone tip or fan tip and use plenty of pressure for a fine spray pattern.
- In-Fluence stains will work with the varied porosity of the concrete or overlay substrate to create a natural mottled and variegated look.
- Clean tools, sprayers, and mixing vessels with soap and water.
- Follow maintenance guidelines for selected topcoat.
